Our infrastructure and transportation systems are the backbone of our economy. Recently, we have seen too many failures within America’s infrastructure. Highways have been collapsing, trains have derailed, air and seaports are in disrepair despite spending trillions to fix this systemic problem. Our crumbling infrastructure is holding back economic growth and opportunity in this country. Continued investment is required, but we must also ensure that taxpayer dollars are being spent wisely and there is no pork barrel spending on frivolous construction projects.
